Delighted to say ‘Some Things Are Not Nothing’ has found a permanent home as part of Extinction Rebellion’s Writer’s Rebel series, after expiring off BBC Sounds in October. Honoured to be in such company.
Delighted to say that my short story ‘Some Things Are Not Nothing’ was broadcast on BBC Radio Bristol last night, and is available on BBC Sounds for the next 30 days or so (I’m 80ish mins in):
International Studio (1897) (detail). Joseph Walter West (British, 1860-1933). Poster.
As the text reads, The Studio was a journal “of fine and applied art” based out of England. It featured some of the more influential artists of the day, including Aubrey Beardsley and Charles Mackintosh. West’s delicate poster for the publication is a lovely example of American Art Nouveau, all curling lines and wintry hues embracing a lovely lady in Victorian attire who is reading one of the journals.
‘Sea Shanty’ was first published in 2012, in a now-defunct lit mag called The Bicycle Review. I always liked this story, so I found it a new (and very attractive) home at Belle Ombre.
